Wellbeing and Support

Student Wellbeing and Support

At Strata Education, your wellbeing matters. We recognise that learning success is closely linked to feeling supported, safe and respected. Our approach to student wellbeing goes beyond academic support and focuses on your overall experience as a learner.

We are committed to providing timely, respectful and individualised support so you can engage confidently in your studies and achieve your goals.

What this means for you

This information applies to all students enrolled with Strata Education and covers:

  • your learning experience (online and face-to-face)

  • assessments and study commitments

  • communication with trainers, assessors and staff

  • wellbeing support throughout your course

Support is available from pre-enrolment through to course completion.

Our approach to student wellbeing

Student wellbeing is embedded into everything we do — it is not a separate service, but part of your learning journey.

We take a whole-of-organisation approach, meaning:

  • wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility

  • support is proactive, not reactive

  • concerns are identified early wherever possible

  • students are supported consistently and respectfully

Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued.

Early support and engagement

We aim to identify and support wellbeing needs as early as possible through:

  • pre-enrolment discussions and reviews

  • clear inductions and orientation sessions

  • regular check-ins during your course

  • monitoring engagement to identify when support may be needed

If we notice you may be struggling, we will reach out — and you are always welcome to reach out to us first.

Personalised wellbeing support

If you experience challenges that affect your ability to study, we can work with you to put support in place. This may include:

  • one-on-one conversations with trainers or support staff

  • flexible learning or assessment arrangements, where appropriate

  • referral to internal or external support services

  • a tailored Wellbeing Support Plan developed with you

Support is always discussed with you and adjusted as your needs change.

Counselling and emotional support

Students can access informal wellbeing support through:

  • trainers and assessors

  • student support staff

For additional help, Strata Education provides access to a confidential Student Assistance Program, offering professional counselling support for personal or study-related concerns.

This service is:

  • confidential

  • free of charge

  • available 24/7

  • delivered by qualified counsellors

Peer support and connection

Learning alongside others can be a powerful source of support. We encourage peer connection through:

  • group learning activities

  • online discussion spaces

  • informal study groups and catch-ups

You are never expected to manage your studies alone.

Safe and inclusive learning environment

Strata Education is committed to maintaining a learning environment that is:

  • respectful

  • inclusive

  • culturally safe

  • free from discrimination, bullying, harassment and violence

If you experience or witness behaviour that concerns you, support is available and you will be treated fairly and respectfully.

How to raise a wellbeing concern

If something is affecting your wellbeing or learning, you can:

  1. Speak with your trainer or assessor

  2. Contact student support staff or the General Manager

  3. Escalate more serious or unresolved concerns to the National Education & Compliance Manager

  4. Seek further review if required

You can raise concerns at any time — early conversations often lead to the best outcomes.

What happens when you ask for support

When you raise a wellbeing concern:

  • you will be listened to respectfully and confidentially

  • support options will be discussed with you

  • actions will be agreed collaboratively

  • follow-ups will occur to check how you are going

You will not be disadvantaged for asking for help.

Your role in your wellbeing

We encourage students to:

  • speak up early if something feels challenging

  • engage with available support options

  • participate in agreed wellbeing or learning strategies

  • stay connected with trainers and support staff

Seeking support is a positive step and part of being a successful learner.

Continuous improvement

Strata Education regularly reviews its wellbeing practices based on:

  • student feedback

  • staff insights

  • best-practice approaches in adult education

This helps ensure our support remains relevant, responsive and effective.
