Training Support

 

Strata Education is committed to supporting students throughout their learning journey. Support is available from pre-enrolment through to course completion and is designed to help students succeed academically and personally.

All prospective students undertake a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment prior to enrolment. This assessment ensures course suitability and identifies any reasonable adjustments or support that may be required.

 

Students can access:

  • Guidance and structured check-ins from trainers and assessors

  • Academic skills support

  • Reasonable adjustment and accessibility support

  • Confidential wellbeing and counselling services

  • Documented support plans where required

  • Clear and structured pathways to raise concerns or seek assistance

 

Support is respectful, confidential and provided in accordance with our Student Wellbeing and Support Policy.

Safety & Security

 

Strata Education has a zero tolerance to Discrimination, Bullying and Harassment takes safety and respectful behaviour seriously.

 

How do I report an incident or lodge a conduct complaint?

If you have concerns about the behaviour of Strata Education staff or students, you can report the incident or submit a formal conduct complaint. Your concerns will be acknowledged and responded to fairly and promptly. Please visit our Complaints and Appeals Page.

 

How do I report threatening or unwanted behaviour?

If you experience or witness threatening or unwanted behaviour, including bullying, sexual harassment, or assault, you can report it. These matters will be managed under our Anti-Discrimination, Bullying and Harassment Policy and Procedure.

 

Health and wellbeing support

How can I get an extension for my course or an assessment? 
Contact your trainer or the Student Support Officer as soon as possible. You may need to provide a brief explanation or evidence (e.g. medical certificate). Strata Education will assess extension requests in accordance with the Assessment and Reasonable Adjustment Policy

 

What should I do if I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed with my studies? 
Speak with our Student Support Officer. They can help you break tasks into manageable steps, connect you with study support, and refer you to a counsellor if needed. 

Can I take a break from my course if I have personal or health issues? 
A: Yes. You may be able to apply for a temporary suspension or deferral. Contact the Student Support Officer to discuss your options and what documentation is required. 

 

Who do I talk to if I’m having personal problems that affect my learning? 
Reach out to the Student Support Officer in person, by phone, or by email. They can provide confidential support and, if appropriate, connect you with external services. 

Where can I get help if I’m experiencing mental health issues? 
A: Internally, you can speak to your trainer or Student Support Officer. For external 24/7 help, you can contact: 

  • Lifeline – 13 11 14 

  • Beyond Blue – 1300 224 636 

  • Headspace – headspace.org.au 

 

What if I’m dealing with harassment, discrimination, or bullying? 

A: Report it immediately to your trainer or the Student Support Officer. We take all reports seriously and follow our policies to ensure a safe learning environment. 

 

Can the RTO help me with financial hardship affecting my studies? 

Students experiencing financial hardship may apply for a payment plan in accordance with the Fee Management, Deferral and Refund Policy. Applications are assessed individually and documented.

 

How do I access learning adjustments for a disability or medical condition? 

A: Contact the Student Support Officer to discuss your needs. You may be asked to provide documentation from a health professional so we can arrange reasonable adjustments. 

Student Assistance Program

 

Strata Education provides enrolled students with access to a confidential Student Assistance Program (SAP) through its Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider. This professional counselling service is designed specifically for tertiary education students and supports their mental health and wellbeing throughout their studies. 

The SAP offers ongoing support with a personal difficulty or study-related issues that may be affecting a student’s wellbeing or ability to progress in their course. The goal is to help students address concerns early and reduce barriers to completing their qualification. 

Students can access qualified and experienced counsellors either over the phone or in person. Counsellors will work with students to identify issues and develop strategies for managing or resolving them. 

The service is, free of charge, Confidential and private and available 24/7 by calling [insert number] 

Complaints and Appeals

Strata Education is committed to resolving complaints and appeals fairly, transparently and within 20 business days wherever possible.

Students may lodge a complaint or appeal regarding:

  • Academic decisions

  • Administrative decisions

  • Staff or student conduct

  • Assessment outcomes

 

If dissatisfied with the outcome of the internal process, students may access an independent external review body. Further details are provided in the Complaints and Feedback Page.
